Project Tittle: Promoting Private Sector Participation in Local Governments
The Overall Project Goal: To contribute to increased Private Sector Participation in Local Governance for improved local government service delivery in Mukono, Kiboga & Mityana by 2019.
- Objective One: To improve institutional and management capacities for at least 12 targeted private sector actors in the districts of Mukono, Kiboga, and Mityana for improved service delivery and business operating environment by December 2019.
- Objective Two: To strengthen linkages and partnerships for at least 12 targeted private sector enterprises in the districts of Mukono, Kiboga, and Mityana for improved service delivery and business operating environment by December 2019.
Better dialogue and more communication between the target districts local governments and private sector (represented by the target enterprises/associations) is to be the first step in improving the economic environment, policies and regulations. The private sector capacity building strategy is aimed at enhancing their knowledge and skills to effectively voice the opinions and concerns of their constituents, and thus become effective dialogue partners.

The project objectives are being pursued through public-private dialogue, enhancing (policy) advocacy skills and technical capacity building support for private sector (MSME) development.
