In a move to bolster Small and Medium Industries (SMIs), the Uganda Small Scale Industries Association (USSIA) demonstrated its commitment to improving business operations across the country.
On Friday, 23/82/024, the Chairperson of USSIA’s National Executive Committee joined the Far-Eastern Regional Task Force in a comprehensive Business Health Checks Program.
This initiative aimed to assess and enhance the performance of local entrepreneurs, reflecting USSIA’s dedication to hands-on support for its members. Led by the Far-Eastern Regional Coordinator, the program involved visits to 10 selected entrepreneurs.
These site visits provided a valuable opportunity to evaluate each business’s health, identify challenges, and offer tailored advice for operational improvements. The
participation of the USSIA Chairperson underscored the national importance of these regional efforts, highlighting the organization’s proactive approach to engaging directly with its members.
Following the site visits, a convention brought together about 70 enterprises from the region. The gathering served as a platform for entrepreneurs to exchange insights, share success stories, and discuss future growth opportunities. The collaborative environment fostered a spirit of innovation and resilience, with participants expressing optimism about the future of their businesses.
The Chairperson praised the initiative at the convention, emphasizing the critical role of SMIs in driving economic growth and job creation in Uganda. USSIA’s Business Health Checks Program is part of a broader strategy to build a more resilient and sustainable industrial sector nationwide, setting a strong example for similar programs in other regions.
